So, as well as getting Outlook to manage your email accounts and your calendar, you can also have it manage your tasks and to-do lists as well. So, we can go to the Task View, the Task Module just by clicking on this icon at the bottom there, okay. And these are some tasks that I've already pre-populated into these demo accounts. So at the moment, this is my to-do list. And the to-do list will contain the tasks from all the different accounts in Outlook. If I select one particular email account, then it just has the tasks for that specific account in there, okay. If I go back to the to-do list, then it breaks it down by when these tasks are due. So I've got one due today. I've gotta buy dog food. And this week, you've gotta complete these training videos I'm doing right now, okay. And to kind of give a clue about that, you'll see that the Today flag is darker than the this week flag. So the color intensity increases as the task becomes more urgent. Now, if you complete a task, what you can do, you can just click on the flag, okay, and that will automatically mark it complete or you could click on this icon up here if you want to, okay? And that means that it's, it disappears. So if I, oops, just do that again. Sorry. So if I just click on here, that marks it complete. And if you do it by accident, just do Control+Z to undo it, okay. So that's no big drama there at all. What do these other bits mean? Well, this here, this is a kind of the summary of the task. It gives you the start and the end date and where it's stored. Oops. And go back again. And whether there's a reminder time for it as well, okay. So if you, let's say, you want a reminder, and I'm notorious for forgetting to buy our dog's dog food. Imagine the poor dogs. So right click on here, I select Add Reminder, and you can specify what you want it to do. So, okay, reminder. Specify the reminder. And I want to do that. I need to do it before the shop shuts. So I'm going to leave it at 3:30, okay. It's gonna remind me at 3:30. And that means that I will now go. So, once I've set a reminder, I can now see this flag icon appear as well, okay. And also, if I hover over the clipboard now, it says, reminder time, 3:30, to on today's date. Okay, so that's the basics of tasks. Now let's just look at creating a task from scratch. As I'm on the task view, then I can just go to new task here. If I was on the calendar or in the email, I could just go to new items and again, select task from this list. Either way, you get exactly the same pop-up box appear. So, here we go. Let's insert our new task there. And we've got a storm coming, so I need to clear the gutters.

And I've got to get that done. The storm is due on Saturday, so I must make sure that that is done by Friday. But it's quite a big job and I may not have enough time to do it all on Friday. So maybe, I want to start that on Thursday as well, okay. So I'm gonna start on Thursday, get it done by Friday. I'll set myself a reminder as well on Wednesday. And that would mean don't forget the stepladders. (keyboard keys clicking) Okay. What else do I need to say in here? Well, not a lot really. I haven't started it yet. Pretty normal priority, or maybe it's higher priority. Maybe it hasn't been done for a while. And all these fields are optional, of course, okay. We'll just leave that at 0%. Okay. And that's it. I just hit save and close now. And there we go. So that's due later in the week, clear the gutters. I've got my reminder set, I've got my task details in here, and there's my flag, okay. So there's my task, right. Now, that's one way of adding tasks, doing it manually. Another thing you can do, let's say I was in my emails, and in my emails today, I got an email telling me that I've got a weekly meeting coming up, okay. So I probably have to prepare for that weekly meeting, okay. So if I have to prepare for the meet weekly meeting, then what I need to do is set a task to do that. So, I can click and drag my email into the tasks. And up and up here, I'm just going to write, prepare for weekly meeting. Prepare for meeting. And that's going to be due today. I'm just gonna hit today there 'cause it's easier. That's probably got a high priority. And I want to reminder to do that before the meeting. So say the meeting's at seven o'clock tonight for me, I want to make sure that I'm doing this by five o'clock at the latest, okay. So I'll set myself a reminder there. And then again, hit save and close. Once I go back to my task list, I will see it's here. And that's a job for today. So that's appeared at under the Today icon. Now, I don't necessarily have to keep coming over to tasks to see that these tasks are due 'cause obviously, that would be quite annoying. And most of the time, we live in this email type view. So don't forget that if you go to the View tab in the Mail View section or the Mail Module, then what you can do is you can go to the To-do bar on the right hand side and you can add tasks to the To-do bar. You can also add your calendar as well if you want to, okay. So various options available to you and that's how you can help manage your tasks.
