Transcript
In this workout, we're asked to create regional sales pie charts. One, a pie chart to show values of regional sales. And two, a pie chart to show regional sales as a percentage of total sales. So the first one is relatively straightforward. We go to the insert ribbon, go to the pie charts, and it's the top left one there just a simple pie.
I'm then going to add a chart element data labels, and I'll go for outside end.
And if I click on chart, title, press equals link to regional sales. That one is done fantastic. The second chart's very similar. We just need to make a small change. So let's make it again, insert pie chart, make sure we're in the chart, design ribbon, add chart elements, data labels, outside end.
But this time we need to change these data labels. And the way we do this, we need to make sure that we have selected the data labels. Make sure you've got all of them selected, not just one. If you've accidentally selected just on one, just press the escape button and it should bring you back out to here. Or press escape again and just start again.
On the right hand side, I can see I've got format, data labels menu appear, if you haven't got this, then just right click and then format data labels.
And we want to go to the far right hand button, the label options at the moment, it's got values ticked. We want to change that to percentage untick the values. You could even include category name if you wanted to, and you could move things around. Link up the chart title, and now you've got two pie charts, one by value and one by percentage.
