To build or add a chart to your presentation, you can either create it manually in PowerPoint or copy it from an Excel spreadsheet.
Typically, you would only create charts in PowerPoint if the chart is simple and doesn't cover much data or detail.
If the chart is more complex, you will import it from Excel as it's more efficient to have the chart linked to the underlying Excel file if updates are made.
we'll cover both ways in more detail and the advantages of using either of these methods.
To follow along with the video, please make sure you have downloaded the exercise file, working with charts, exercise file from the download section, create a blank slide in your PowerPoint presentation.
Now open the Excel file working with charts, exercise file.
We'll use this as the source file for inserting charts in PowerPoint.
Once you've opened the Excel file, you should see a chart for stock price history.
