We're now going to investigate the differences between two of the paste options when inserting a chart from Excel, use destination theme, and keep source formatting.

The difference between these two options is that by selecting the options with use destination theme, the chart will apply the theme style set in the presentation, including the theme colors and fonts to be consistent with the styling used elsewhere in the presentation.

Keep source formatting will apply the same formatting used in the underlying Excel spreadsheet, and so alternative fonts or colours will be integrated, will be inconsistent with the style used elsewhere in the presentation.

Some company fonts and colours might not lend themselves to be used in charts, so keeping the default formatting used in Excel, for example, calibri font might be better suited.

However, where possible, it's always best practice to ensure consistency in styling when building a presentation, and so used destination theme should be prioritized if possible.
