Over the coming videos, we're gonna be adding text and features to our new starting document. To save time, I'll add key discussion points to the document in between recordings to save you from watching me typing it out on the video 'cause that would not make very exciting viewing. You can download the completed version though of this how-to document from the resource area. By the end of this video series, you'll be able to recreate a similar document to the final version with all the bells and whistles, but before we get ahead of ourselves, the first thing we should do with our new document is save it somewhere sensible, and this means that as we do more and more work on it, we can easily save it with Control+S, okay, which Control+S is the save shortcut, or alternatively, you can actually switch on this autosave feature if you prefer, okay, but just beware of this 'cause the autosave feature will overwrite previous versions of your work. So, if you wanna kind of avoid that happening, you can create multiple iterations of your file using "Save As," and "Save As" will give you the opportunity to kind of rename the file and is an essential part of your version control. It's up to you. One thing I will say though is do not save on the desktop. In fact, I'm actually gonna, I wanted to highlight that, avoid saving on the desktop 'cause it can get cluttered quite quickly if you're not disciplined. So, let's save the file then now, right? So, I'm gonna press, you can, at this stage, 'cause we've not saved the file before, Control+S will give the option to save as and rename it, or F12 will do the same thing. Now, I'm a creature of habit, so I tend to use F12 for "Save As," which was what I've just pressed, and I'm going to save that into my recordings area, in Word Fundamentals for Professionals, okay, and I'm gonna call this "Save." Actually, I'm gonna give this a kind of a general name. I'm gonna call it "My How-to Guide, How-to Guide v1," okay, and hit Enter. So now, when I've pressed Enter, you'll look at the top of, the very, very top of the screen there. You can see the name of the file, "How-to Guide v1." Beforehand, it would've said "Document One." So, as I said, as we go through all the videos, this document's gonna get bigger and bigger and bigger, and you'll see some of the formatting and stuff change as well. Oh, and by the way, if you're thinking you've missed some videos because I've got some different styles in here and I've got some bullets, et cetera, do not worry, okay? We will be explaining those presently, but I just wanted to get this file saved first.
