There are 2 different methods to creating a smart art graphic.

You can either create one from scratch and enter the text manually, or use a list and convert it into a smart art graphic.

The process for starting from scratch is go to the insert tab in the illustrations group.

Click Smart Art or Alt + N + M.

Choose a smart art graphic.

Select the type and layout that you want.

Click text in the text pane, and then type your text or copy text from another location.

Click text in the text pane and then paste your text.

And the process for creating one from a list is select the text box list to convert into smart art.

Go to the home tab and in the paragraph panel select the convert to smart art graphic button.

Choose a smart art graphic, select the type and layout that you want.
