As soon as you've created your Smart Art graphic, a new tab will appear in the ribbon called Smart Art Design.
If you want to make changes to the quantity of segments or the sequencing of them, this is where you do that.
A few key tools in the Create Graphic section are Add shape.
This allows you to insert a new shape of before or after the one you are selected on, promote, demote, and move up down.
This allows you to rearrange the order right to left.
This allows you to switch back to front the sequencing of the shapes.
The other thing you'll notice when selected on the Smart Arc graphic is the type your text here, dialogue box.
Here. You can edit the text simply by selecting a point in the list and changing the text.
This will automatically update the Smart Art graphic, or you can select a segment in the Smart Art graphic and type that text in that way.
The shortcut previously shown for reordering parts in a list also applies here when selected on a line of text.
In the Type Your Text Here box, you can use Shift Plus, alt Plus up or down to change the order, and this will automatically update the Smart Art graphic.
Finally, to remove a segment from the Smart Art Graphic, select the segment and then delete or backspace on your keyboard, and the graphic will automatically update. Layouts, allows you to review alternative layouts instantly when selected on the Smart Art Graphic.
This can be useful when deciding which of the types is best suited for displaying the information.
The second is Smart Art Styles.
This is a similar tool to the styles provided when selected on a Shape as previously covered.
Smart art styles provides a variety of alternative effects to add to your smart art graphic, including Shadows 3D effects and more.
When selecting layouts and styles, always have the viewer in mind and ensure that the information is legible and that the design is not impacting the ease of reading the information.
