Can you tell me about a time you have failed at something or a time that you've made a mistake? and what that involved and how you dealt with it.
Sure. So I think luckily, so far in my professional experiences, I haven't had any big blunders as of yet. Okay. That continues.
But during university we worked on quite a lot of group projects.
And for one of my group projects, we sort of, looked at the task and we sort of subdivided the different questions based on the people, different people in the group.
And then, so I started working on my questions.
And I, I think I misunderstood one of the guidelines.
And so I sort of wrote my answers and I was happy with them.
And I presented them to the rest of my team.
They were also quite happy with them.
But then when we got graded on the project, my section actually did the worst out of the team, and I was quite confused.
And so I spoke with the head of the course and he basically explained to me that I missed one of the instructions, which was we had to only use the resources that they included, within the project.
But I used external resources and that was obviously a big no for the project.
Okay. so what I did after that was like, I really started paying attention to instructions and making sure that although it's good to sometimes go up and beyond and try, use external resources or do more than what's required, you have to stick to the band instructions first and foremost.
And then from there you can sort of look to do more.
So I think I learned quite a valuable lesson in that project.
And how did your teammates react? Were they upset with you? Not were they Okay.
No, they were okay. I mean, at the end of the day, it was also it was also their responsibility to sort of point out and understand like what I did wrong.
And so they kind of, I don't know, brushed over it or didn't read through it properly.
so they kind of accepted some responsibility as well.
but I obviously it was very apologetic and, and luckily it was a group project at university that didn't have broader implication major.
I think if it was like on a bigger, like perhaps on a deal or transaction, then my boss probably wouldn't be very impressed.
