In terms of the skills I think you need as an M&A analyst, apart from the analytical skills and numerous skills, which you obviously have because otherwise the bank wouldn't have hired you, it's patience and perseverance. It's a fast-paced environment, but M&A deals actually take a very, very long time. And more often than not, you could work on a deal for months and months and months and suddenly it could all be shelved because the markets aren't going the way you would like or the CEO has decided to change his mind, or for whatever many, many, many reasons which sort of prevent a deal from going ahead. And it can be very frustrating, but that's when you need to sit back and look at the bigger picture. It's not about just getting the deal done. It's about delivering the best for your client. And if that means advising your client to step away from the deal, if that means advising a client to delay a transaction, it's important to do that. Deals come and go, but client relationships last a lifetime. And as you get increasingly senior, this becomes more and more important. You have to prioritize the client relationship rather than the deal. So, when it comes to skills, there are many, many, many junior bankers that can put together fantastic PowerPoint presentations and really, really quite nice looking spreadsheets, but the clients eventually return to the bankers who they feel comfortable with, who they trust, who they can rely on for giving the best advice, even though it means that the bank stands to lose on, for example, free revenue. I think that is one of the most important skills, and that really holds you as you progress through your career.
