Banded Header Styles Table DesignTranscript
When you select a table, 2 new tabs will appear in the ribbon.
The table toolbar has 2 tabs, design and layout.
In this video we're going to focus on table design.
The table design tab has several options to change the appearance and layout of your table, such as in the center of the ribbon is a section called table styles.
You can choose from a defined gallery of styles that apply different colours, borders, shading, and effects to your table.
You can also customize your own style by using the shading borders and effects buttons.
To the left of the ribbon is a section called table style Options with 6 options to choose from. Header row, you can check or uncheck this option to show or hide the first row of your table, which usually contains the column headings.
You can also format the header row differently from the rest of the table by using the table style options group. Total Row, You can check or uncheck this option to show or hide the last row of your table, which usually contains the summary or total values. Banded Rows, you can check or uncheck this option to apply alternating colors to the rows of your table, which makes it easier to read.
First column. You can check or uncheck this option to show or hide the first column of your table, which usually contains the row labels.
Last column. You can check or uncheck this option to show or hide the last column of your table, which usually contains the final or subtotal values, banded columns.
You can check or uncheck this option to apply alternating colours to the columns of your table, which makes it easier to compare.
