Escalation.

If engagement was attempted by the asset owner but delivered no meaningful outcomes the investor may want to escalate the issue and there are a number of escalation methods that they can use. Firstly, they could try to seek further meetings with the senior managers of the company or for matters where engagement with senior managers were not successful one could meet with the chairman of the board or other non-executive directors. If this fails then one can try to engage jointly with other shareholders or one final option is to make a public statement before the next general meeting or request one if no meeting is planned for the immediate future at the meeting you could choose to speak or use voting to make your point.
