Editing the layout of slides in slide master can be a great way to make global changes to your presentations. That will then be carried through to the other slides using that layout.
However, do be careful as you may be changing a slide layout with one specific slide in mind rather than the group of slides that are also using that layout By going into the slide master and making a small change to say the text box size marked in the middle here, that change will update all the slides using that layout.
The slide master can also be a great place to add visual components to your slide. Layouts that need to be present on all slides, for instance, company logos or backgrounds.
The process is very easy.
Select either the slide master to apply these changes to every slide or one of the layout masters to only apply those changes to that layout option.
In this example, we've selected the slide master, insert your image, and this image will then be applied to all layout options using the slide master or an individual layout option if that was selected.
The same process can be applied to other visual components like logos.
In most cases, the company template you receive will already have standard background and logos embedded into the master, but if you need to make any adjustments to these elements, this is the place to come too.
