So you've nearly finished your document, but before you send it out to your client or your boss, we need to give it some final checks first of all and also add some finishing touches. The first thing to do then, is give it a bit of a spell check. So here we have a sentence, okay? "Does it pass muster?" That is the question. Now you'll notice that I've put in some really, really dodgy typos in here, just so they stand out like a sore thumb, just to kind of show you how Word lets you know where the errors are, okay? So first of all, you'll notice some weird formatting.

You've got a double-blue line here under the word "Its", we've got red lines under this "docment" and "thorougoughly" word. And there's also a little blue line under "you're" as well. And what this is? This is Word telling you that there might be an issue, okay? So we start off on the left-hand side. All we need to do is select the word and right click on it. There we go, that's better. And it says Possible Word Choice Error, okay? And what it's suggesting is replace it with "It's", so basically add an apostrophe and that's absolutely correct. So we want to do that. Yep, that's good. And now the double-blue line then disappears. This single-blue line has gone from here now. We'll come back to that in a minute. All right, let's look at this one now, "docment". That should obviously be "document". (clicks) Okay, again, right click and yep, we can use "document" there. That's easy. And again, we can right click here as well.

And obviously it wants to replace it with "thoroughly". Fantastic! So the question is are we happy with the sentence as it is now? So it's vital that your document is thoroughly checked before sending out to clients or colleagues. Hmm, not quite. There's a couple of issues here, okay? So first one is this one here. I think that what really we should not have an apostrophe there. Now, funnily enough, now I've actually selected it, Word has now decided, "Oh, hang on a second. There's something wrong with this word as well, 'cause it's got the double-blue line again." So if I right click under here, (clicks) yes, it wants to replace it with the normal "your", the possessive "your", okay, as opposed to "you're". And we keep going along to here. This "are" should be an "or" as well, okay? So it works partly. However, there's no substitution for true, thorough error-checking. So just bear that in mind. Now, (clicks) that's when you can obviously see everything on the screen. But if you've got a big document, you probably wanna be able to navigate around it a bit quickly to see where the typos might be. Now there is a really cool keyboard shortcut for that and that is F7, okay? And what that will do is access this editor, not editor, sorry, this editor command menu. And as you would expect, that's normally in the Review, okay? So that's where it really belongs. But it's been added to the Home tab as well. 'Cause it's quite a common menu that people use when they're working on Word documents. So anyway, you're not gonna use the mouse for this. You're gonna press F7 and that's going to access the editor menu, which also incorporates the spelling as well, so spelling and grammar in there, okay? Now you'll notice, they'll give you a breakdown of what's included and you'll see the 63 spelling issues that it's flagged for us. Let's have a look what they are, shall we? So we click on that and panic over, I think, 'cause it's talking about all of these Latin text that we added as sort of placeholder text, earlier on in the course in the early videos. So I'm not gonna get too upset about all of that stuff. In fact, I'm inclined to just hit Ignore All for these. Yep. (clicks) Anything that's Latin and should be Latin, I'm not gonna get remotely stressed about. And because I've used it again and again and again, it should, I mean after a few ignores, that I don't need to worry about it anymore. So let me just get through these last few. (clicks) Duh-duh-duh, just a few more now and with a bit of luck, I think that's all the Latin text options in the entire document. Okay, so I've done that. And oh, okay, right, so now, all the spelling is done I think, we're all good there, or maybe we've got an "e.g.", where's this one? Oh, okay, for example, "e.g". So it doesn't like the fact I've written "e.g" there. That's fair enough. (clicks) It's 'cause I've missed out a full stop. So it's even missed out the fact that I, it's even, sorry, identified the fact that I missed a full stop at the end of "e.g". So that's great. So you'll notice now that all the spelling has been taken care of. So that's cool. And next, we're gonna look at the grammar. (clicks) Okay, so what has it found here? Okay so, it's asking me to do "e.g. Delete all comments, (indistinct), ALT+R+D+O." Okay? All right, it wants to change the spacing there. I'm not gonna get too upset about that. I think I'm going to, I'm gonna leave it as it is, okay? So we can keep going along these. I can keep hitting in the right arrow. "=lorem", again, that's a function, I'm not gonna get upset about that. We can leave that there. "Alternatively to create a new style from text already in the document," okay, fair enough. We shouldn't have a full stop after the colon. So I'm gonna select that one. And here, it wants me to add a hyphen in "right hand", that's also fine as well. So there we go. I've used the editor tool now to kind of, to clean up the document, so that I'm satisfied with it. And that means it's more or less ready to send now. So just a few other things like checking the formatting, which we'll look at later.
