Let's check that the balance sheet balances. So down to our balance check, I can see that historically it is balancing In our first year, so December 16 it balances As we go forward, 17 is unbalanced and then 18, 19 etc This is a bit of a special case, if we know that it balances in the first year. The year to 2016 but doesn't in 17 Then there must be some problem in the 17 column. It could be that we haven't copied something from 16 to 17, 18 and 19 So I now need to go looking for any strange numbers, anything that looks a bit unusual, row zero If you want to pause the recording now, see if you can find anything. I'll tell you right now, the answer is in the balance sheet So scrolling up a little bit, we go to my long term assets and I notice that both figures are identical but thereafter they change So what's happening here? Well I can see that the formula is =F41, if we check what that is That is your ending long term assets in a BASE analysis Let's go and check the other figure. So long term assets. I now go to the cell to the right And it's not linking to G41, it's linking to G38. That seems to be an error, let's check what that is. And that is the beginning figure So previously we were linking to an ending figure and then column G we link to a beginning figure It should be the ending figure So let's correct that, we can correct it by just copying 2016 into 2017 and to the end Copy it right, check that your balance sheet balances And it does!
