So when working out the liquidity structures, it's essential to always have at the front of your mind what is the main objective of the corporate treasurer. Now, all corporate treasurers want to get monies owe to them as fast as possible, accelerate their receivables. They want to make all payments on adjusting time basis, not early. They want the payments to be received on exactly the date and time they're meant to be. Of course, they always have to make sure that cash is available at the right place, at the right time. To meet all the companies outgoings, they need to fund all deficits. They need to minimize borrowings, fund all deficits, therefore reducing cost of borrowing. And if they happen to be in the fortuitous position of having long balances, they need to invest those surpluses. Now, to facilitate this and to make it as easy as possible, what they need to do is have all the cash in one place. Otherwise, they're trying to do this many times over.
