Okay, so let's look at some of the techniques that we use to bring our cash balances together. Let's look at cash concentration first. Cash concentration may also be known as target balancing, or even if you're American, ZBA, zero balancing. Now, in this example, we're going to have four accounts. As you can see, three of them are in surplus, one of them is short. Those balances are then all swept to 0 and put into a header account, and the balance is plus eight. If you actually do the maths, 10 plus 5 plus 8 is 23, take away 15 equals plus 8. So say if you were to zero balance the accounts above and put all the proceeds into one account, that account would have a balance of plus 8.
