Interface Ribbon Slide Notes Slide ThumbnailTranscript
When you first go into PowerPoint and open a blank presentation, this is what you will see.
The space in the center is where you design the slides.
PowerPoint will default to a title slide when first creating a new document.
At the top is the ribbon, which contains a set of tabs and commands that you can use to perform various tasks in PowerPoint.
Each tab relates to a type of activity such as inserting objects, designing slides, animating elements, or reviewing your presentation.
Some tabs such as chart tools only appear when you select a specific object on your slide.
You can also use keyboard shortcuts to access the commands on the ribbon, which we'll get to later. To the left of the screen is the slide thumbnail paint tool that allows you to see a small preview of all the slides in your presentation and easily navigate, rearrange, or delete them.
You can click on any thumbnail to display the slide on the main screen or drag and drop the thumbnails to change the order of the slides.
You can also right click on any thumbnail to access more options, such as adding a new slide, duplicating a slide, hiding a slide, or applying a layout.
You can use this tool to organize, edit, or review your slides quickly and conveniently.
The notes section at the bottom of the screen is a tool that allows you to add notes or additional information to your slides, which can help you when presenting or sharing presentations.
To use this tool, go to the view tab and click on notes in the show group.
You can also access this tool by clicking on the notes button in the status bar at the bottom of the PowerPoint window.
