Interview processes have started to change quite a lot over the past few years for associate hiring more is now being done via VC to speed up the process in a lot of cases. We're all also seeing less focus on Long Excel modeling exercises and more focus on General lbo understanding and plenty of commercial case studies a typical process would usually be a short intro meeting with the senior member of the team followed by a more in-depth session with some verbal cases and maybe a paper lbo a quick and dirty modeling exercise to check how your understanding of the PE funds operate basically.
Often funds are now using mini GMAT style tests too, which can come at any stage in the process, but normally early on if all goes well then typically there would be a more formal case study at this point. These can be anything from an hour of prep and an hour of presenting to a take at home for the weekend and come in and present scenario.
This would be followed up by some more high-level chats with Partners about longer term plans fun fit Etc. And then typically some additional meetings with more junior team members. There is no set structure to pee interviews, but this is fairly typical.
