Quick Access ToolbarTranscript
Now let's talk about the camera tool. First thing you should do is add it to the quick access tool bar. Now let's imagine a scenario where you're wanting to play around with some assumptions and see what the effect of changes in those assumptions has to different parts of your spreadsheet. What you can do is use the camera tool to select the cells whose values you want to see affected, and you could paste it into a particular area, and that way you can watch a dynamic picture of those cells as you're playing with the assumptions. First of all, then, let's add the camera tool to the quick access toolbar. So to do this, you just need to right click at the top of the screen, click on customize quick access toolbar, and then where it says popular commands hit the dropdown arrow to the right hand side, and we're gonna select all commands, and then if you click in the main area and start typing camera, there it is, you'll see that you can add it to your quick access toolbar. So there it is. Now add it. When I hit okay, you should see that the icon has appeared at the top of the screen. When you're using the camera tool, the first thing you need to do is select the region of cells that you want to be able to observe from another area of the spreadsheet. So I'm gonna pick this little income statement extract here. I'm then going to select or take a picture of that region using the camera tool.
Now I know it's selected 'cause the dancing ants are around the outside. You'll also see that my cursor has now changed, it's now a little cross. When I go to my next area, I can just double click and it will automatically paste my selection. And I can move this around anywhere on the on the screen. I'm gonna leave it here for now. And what I want to do is see what happens when I make changes to my assumptions. So say I make my assumptions 20% and press enter. You can see how all the values now change. Now this is just a picture of what has actually happened on the other sheet.
